Expressions In Rose Gold

I know it has been a while since I last posted, but I have now finished my second piece of 2010. I actually finished it about a week ago. This piece is called Expressions In Rose Gold. This piece was a lot of fun to stitch. I took this pilot class that was taught in Elk Grove, California in March this year. I met Nancy Cucci, the designer of this piece when I went to my first ANG National Seminar in Tuscon, Arizona, in 2006. I took a piece called Stitches in Sterling in Tuscon and learned that there are many different beads and many different ways to attach those beads on 18 count canvas and you can create a beautiful piece.

Expressions In Rose Gold is a class that Nancy will be teaching at the ANG National Seminar in Columbus, Ohio, this year. If you would like more information about this class and the seminar, you can see in on the ANG website at: http://www.needlepoint.org/index.php.

Mediterranean Squares

I am excited to say that I have completed my first finish of 2010. I was able to pilot stitch Mediterranean Squares designed by Terry Dryden. I wasn't sure about the piece at first because it was not colors that I cared for. I decided to do it anyway and to force myself to work outside of my comfort zone. Boy am I glad that I did this. This piece was hard to put down and now I don't mind the colors at all. There are also a few threads used in this piece that I hadn't used before and just fell in love with them.

I didn't work on it for about six weeks while I was working with my daughters class and teaching them to needlepoint, but the minute I was done with the class, I was back working on it.

Thank you Terry for such a fun piece that I can put in my collection.
